FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSYou are not alone; here are some of the most common questions we get.
First, let's keep in mind that physical therapists are medical experts, their speciality is in musculoskeletal and neurological conditions; so there's some very complex science involved.
Our therapists use their understanding of how people move to decipher your movement patterns and identify the source of your pain or limitation. With that done, we use a combination of gentle hands-on interventions, some well-calibrated equipment, exercises and gentle motivation to bring you back to fully functional health.
Our goal is two-fold; pain-free movement and to condition you to prevent any reoccurrence of your condition.
Think of physical therapy in the same way you would think about preparing for an exam. You learn the subject matter and practice, practice, practice.
We will help you figure out the subject matter; what happened, what caused it to happen and how do you fix it. Then, we work with you to come up with a regime of exercises and activities that will build your strength up and improve your mobility.
All of your sessions are one-on-one so, you will have our full attention every time. This also means that you get regular and instant feedback and coaching.
We strive to make this simple and convenient. Use our appointment calendar to let us know your ideal time, and we will get back to you to confirm or adjust.
You are also free to give us a call during office hours.
This is a great question.
Any medication that you are taking.
A letter of referral from your doctor (if this applies to you).
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.
A positive disposition goes a long, long way.
In most cases, it does, especially if you are referred by a doctor.
In any event, we are happy to help you and your insurance contact figure out to what extent you are covered.
We also facilitate the Sagicor swipe card for your added convenience.
We accept cash, cheques, credit cards and debit cards.
It is our policy to accept payment at the end of each session, and we can work with you to figure out what your insurance will cover.
Your first session is usually the longest. This is when we get to know each other, we will take your history and do the primary assessment. This can go for an hour.
Treatment sessions generally run for 45 minutes with time included for warming up and cooling down.
Each patient is unique, so we don't make predictions on your care until after we have seen the extent of your issue and had some time to work with your treatment. Even then, a mishap at any stage could set you back in your treatment.
That's why we work with you to improve your daily habits and recognise the warning signs of stress and potential issues.
Our Promise
Your good health will always be our priority.
